Mysore-style Ashtanga Classes
The Ashtanga Mysore class is a traditional style of practicing Ashtanga yoga, In a Mysore class, students practice at their own pace, following a set sequence of postures under my guidance. I will help to adapt your postures according to your individual needs, meaning that this class is suitable for everyone.
The class is typically conducted in a quiet, focused atmosphere, with each student receiving individual attention and adjustments from the teacher as needed. It’s a self-paced practice where students gradually learn and memorize the sequence of poses over time.
Therapeutic Flow Classes
In my therapeutic flow yoga class we focus on gentle movements, breath-work and mindful awareness to promote healing, relaxation and overall well-being.
In this class, there is an emphasis on proper alignment. I encourage modifications and provide options for students with different levels, ability or flexibility.
Breath-work plays a significant role in therapeutic flow yoga, helping to calm the nervous system, reduce stress and improve mental clarity. Meditation and mindfulness practices may also be incorporated to cultivate present-moment awareness and inner peace.
Very Relaxed Flow Classes
This class is almost identical to the Therapeutic Flow class but with a few less advanced asana so suitable for all levels ages and abilities. Including pregnancy.
Half Primary with Back Bending
A Half Led Primary with Back Bending class is a variation of an Ashtanga yoga class that follows the primary series sequence, with a focus on back bending postures at the end. You can expect a balanced combination of structured sequence and exploration, allowing you to develop strength, flexibility and awareness in your yoga practice.
Yin Yoga Classes
This is a slow-paced style of yoga where poses are held for longer periods, typically ranging from 45 seconds to several minutes. We’ll focus on passive stretching of the connective tissues, such as ligaments and tendons, rather than muscle engagement. It's often described as a meditative practice, promoting relaxation and flexibility.
In Yin yoga, we aim to focus on specific areas of tension by tuning into our bodies and using our breath to release and unblock those areas. Through prolonged holds and mindful breathing, we can gradually release tension and tightness, promoting relaxation and improving flexibility. Where we have yang we need yin.
Children’s Yoga Class
In my Children's Yoga Class, I put an big emphasis on encouraging a development of self-esteem by recognising our individuality and unique qualities. Children will learn the significance of breath control, practice various yoga poses, explore everyday emotions and conclude with relaxation and guided meditation. it is a space where we learn inclusion and how to recognise our own individual needs.
